CASE 1 - YOUR SERVER HAS THE SAME LOCATION FOR CGI SCRIPTS AND HTML - Simply upload *all* the unzipped files directly to your server. - Please make sure that your ftp program is set to "binary" when uploading html files and to "acsii" when uploading cgi-bin files. - chmod (change permissions) of cgi-bin/install/setup.cgi to 755 - Go to your site: http://www.yourwebappsite.com and install! -NB! After clicking the unzip button, please wait until the entire operation has ended! CASE 2 - YOUR SERVER HAS DIFFERENT LOCATIONS FOR CGI AND HTML, OR YOU WANT TO MAKE SUB FOLDER/SPECIAL INSTALL - Upload *all* the cgi-bin content into the cgi-bin area (or to cgi-bin/subfolder/ if you so wish). - Upload *all* the other files to your html area. - Please make sure that your ftp program is set to "binary" when uploading html files and to "acsii" when uploading cgi-bin files. - chmod (change permissions) of cgi-bin/install/setup.cgi to 755 - Go to your site: http://www.yourwebappsite.com and install! CASE 3 - THIS IS AN UPGRADE! - It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you take a backup in advance, the upgrade is still beta. - Upload files to the exact location where your old site is and allow "overwriting" (when your ftp client asks). Only 2-3 files will be overwritten and the rest would be backed up to install/OLD. Example: if you have a custom "www.yourwebappsite.com/index.html" entry page, then you should rename this before starting upload. - Please make sure that your ftp program is set to "binary" when uploading html files and to "acsii" when uploading cgi-bin files. CASE 4 - I AM USING FreeBSD - Please visit this link for more information: http://www.web-app.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=forum&board=Welcome&op=display&num=11271 Secured Install: 1.) PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS ----------------------------------- While there shouldnt be any issues during your WebAPP 1.0 SE Installation, if there are any issues then help is just a click away. Problem 1 - YOUR SERVER "REFUSES" TO UNZIP THE FILES - Unzip those files in your PC, keeping the original locations and paths! - Continue as with the other above two cases. Problem 2 - YOU ARE INSTALLING IT ON WINDOWS AND YOU NEVER HEARD OF CYGWIN - Create the real Unix/Linux environment on your windows operating system first with CGYWIN from: https://www.redhat.com/apps/download/ - Now if you are the root on this real Unix server and realy know what you are doing you should also be able to install this package. Problem 3 - I JUST CAN NOT INSTALL THIS SCRIPT! HELP! If for one reason or another your server "refuses" to install this script, please let us know at http://www.web-app.net support forums, we will be happy to both answer your support questions and even install the site for you.
